What we can confirm, and what we cannot
Onic describes itself as a digital brand of PTML. Its official help centre explains account and activation support. An available website or order screen alone cannot settle the status of a regulatory proceeding.
Earlier coverage of a September 2026 order led to questions about new connections, existing numbers and migration. We have not freshly verified that order or its current implementation from PTA. Confirm your own connection, renewal and number arrangements with Onic; do not make an irreversible change based on a headline.
If you already have an Onic SIM or eSIM
Check activation and account status in the Onic app, then contact official Onic support with the error and account reference. Onic’s activation article specifically warns that a non-PTA-approved handset can prevent service.
Keep an important number available for banking and account verification. Do not delete its eSIM to troubleshoot or because of a migration rumour. Obtain issuer instructions before any profile removal or transfer.
Brand status and device registration are separate
A local eSIM is still a local mobile connection. Changing the format from plastic SIM to eSIM does not register an IMEI. A carrier lock is a third, separate restriction.
Historical DIRBS guidance distinguishes local-SIM use from international roaming, but this page cannot promise a fresh 60-day period or a current exemption for your handset. Check the actual IMEI and applicable rules with PTA. See the SIM-days guide.
Onic versus eJugaar: compare the job you need done
An Onic mobile connection and an eJugaar roaming data plan serve different needs. eJugaar supplies data only: no Pakistani number, conventional calls or SMS. It does not replace the number used for bank OTPs, register your phone or pay any duty.
For eJugaar, confirm the exact regional model supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked; EID alone is insufficient. Coverage, app access and speed depend on the phone, network and location. Check compatibility, then compare total data allowances and validity.
A practical next step
If you need your existing number, start with Onic’s official support and the handset’s current PTA status. If you need only mobile internet, assess a roaming data plan on its own requirements. Keep WiFi available while resolving an activation problem; buying another plan does not resolve a carrier lock or supply SMS.

Does my Onic eSIM still work?
Check the Onic app and official support for your account. We cannot infer your live service from a news report, signal bars or another customer’s experience.
Will my Onic number stay after the move to PTML?
Only Onic or PTML can confirm your number’s current arrangements. We have not independently verified a current migration timetable; do not delete the profile or change a bank number based on a rumour.
Does PTA's order apply to eJugaar too?
We have not verified the present regulatory order and cannot give a legal exemption ruling. eJugaar sells a separate data-only roaming product; it does not register an IMEI or provide local mobile service.
Does a roaming eSIM make my phone PTA-registered?
No. A roaming plan does not register the phone, pay duty or alter its PTA status. Confirm current device and roaming rules with PTA.
Does eJugaar come with a Pakistani number?
No. eJugaar is data only, with no Pakistani number or SMS. Keep an appropriate local connection if those are essential.

Data-only plans start at Rs 380. Check your exact regional model and carrier unlock first; ask the team if either is unclear.
