Does the iPhone Air support eSIM?

Yes — the iPhone Air supports eSIM.

Model information reviewed — 02 Oct 2026

Yes — the iPhone Air supports eSIM. Before buying, confirm that eSIM is enabled on your unit and that it is not locked to another carrier. eJugaar provides data only; a supported model name does not replace those checks.

What is particular about the iPhone Air

iPhone Air uses eSIM only. Its China-mainland version needs a separate activation check; a phone with no SIM tray is not automatically ready for every travel eSIM.

Regional and carrier checks

Match the row to the original sales region and exact unit. A specification for one market does not prove that every imported version is the same.

Manufacturer evidence by region or variant
Region or variantDocumented detail
China mainland — A3518Apple permits a non-mainland carrier eSIM to be installed while outside China mainland, with Location Services enabled. It cannot be installed while in mainland China. Source
Other sales regionsAir remains an eSIM-only design. Confirm its exact A-number and carrier unlock before choosing a profile. Source

Identify your exact unit before buying

  1. In Settings → General → About, tap Model Number to reveal the A-number; match it to Apple’s model list and the original sales region.
  2. Check Carrier Lock in About. “No SIM restrictions” indicates unlock; an EID by itself does not establish this.
  3. A3518 has a two-profile storage limit in Apple’s China guidance. Do not delete a working profile merely to experiment.

For A3518, establish where activation will happen before paying. If a profile is already installed but cannot connect, use the help steps without deleting it.

Installation and help for this model

Use the delivered QR on a confirmed compatible unit. On iOS 17.4 or later, Apple also supports holding a QR in the default email app or browser to add an eSIM.

Continue after regional support and carrier unlock are confirmed. eJugaar supplies data only; installation does not add calls, SMS or a Pakistani number.

What this means for a non-PTA iPhone Air

eJugaar provides roaming data, not a Pakistani local SIM. A manufacturer’s eSIM listing establishes hardware support; the exact variant, carrier unlock and current service conditions still need to be checked before purchase.

It is data only. Calls, SMS and a Pakistani number are not included. Bank OTPs need a separate working SMS number; buying this data profile does not restore an inactive line. Internet calling apps use the data connection.

Check your phone in one minute

Dial *#06# on your iPhone Air. If an EID appears alongside the IMEI, it helps identify eSIM hardware. Also check the exact regional model, Add eSIM controls and carrier unlock. A missing EID on this screen needs a settings or manufacturer check.

One more thing: the phone must not be carrier-locked (JV). For another provider’s eSIM, confirm unlock with the original carrier before buying, especially on a second-hand or imported set. How to tell a JV phone from a non-PTA one.

How to install an eSIM on a Apple phone

iPhone (iOS) — 6 steps. Follow the guide for your phone's software version.

  1. Check compatibility and connect to WiFi
  2. Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data → Add eSIM
  3. Use the issuer QR or manual details
  4. Enable the line and select it for Mobile data
  5. Allow roaming for eJugaar data
  6. Test a small webpage with WiFi off

Your QR is sent after payment verification and eSIM processing. Manual payments are reviewed daily, 10 AM–10 PM PKT; submissions outside those hours wait for review. Same-phone QR import depends on the phone and software. With every QR we also send the SM-DP+ address and activation code, which can be typed in by hand. See the full install guide.

Plans
