Half an answer — some X100 Pro variants have eSIM, some do not. Check your unit's EID before buying — the one-minute test is written below. If an EID shows up, eJugaar will work, and PTA registration is still not needed.
What is particular about the X100 Pro
The global X100 Pro has eSIM; the very same model made for the Chinese market usually does not. Imported sets arriving in Pakistan come both ways, and the box or model number does not settle it — the EID is the only real proof.
What this means for a non-PTA X100 Pro
PTA registration is required for local SIMs. eJugaar is a roaming eSIM — there is no Pakistani local SIM in it at all, so the internet works normally even on a phone that was never registered. No back door: PTA's own DIRBS documentation keeps roaming devices out of blocking.
It is data only. Calls, SMS and a Pakistani number are not included — your bank's OTP will keep arriving on your old number. WhatsApp calls, IMO and Messenger run on data, so those work fine.
Why does a local SIM work for only 60 days on this phone? The full answer, and what PTA stopping Onic changed: that story.
Check your phone in one minute
Dial *#06# on your X100 Pro. If an EID appears alongside the IMEI, the phone has an eSIM. No EID, no eSIM — there is no surer test.
One more thing: the phone must not be carrier-locked (JV). Do check this on a second-hand or imported set — no eSIM installs on a carrier-locked phone, and it is not refundable. How to tell a JV phone from a non-PTA one.
How to install an eSIM on a Vivo phone
Vivo (Funtouch OS) — 4 steps, under ten minutes.
- Connect to WiFi
- Settings → SIM card & mobile data
- Scan the QR
- Turn Data Roaming ON
The QR arrives on your WhatsApp within two minutes of the payment being confirmed. If you only have one phone, it cannot scan its own QR — so with every QR we also send the SM-DP+ address and activation code, which can be typed in by hand. See the full install guide.
Plans
Plans start at Rs 380 and are all data-only. Validity starts the first time you go online, not on the day you buy — so buying ahead of a trip or a need costs you nothing.
Other Vivo models
- X200 — depends on the variant
- Vivo Y series — no eSIM
